Absolute aanrader!

IN FOUR STEPS

From your price to the day itself

  1. A white wall unit high in the gable of a quiet attic room, with no pipe in view.

    You get your price indication

Choose how many rooms and how big they are. You'll see which indoor units and outdoor unit go with them, and we quickly work out what it costs you.

  2. Rein, seen from behind, holds a white Mitsubishi Heavy Industries wall unit against the wall under a sloping ceiling.

    Rein comes round

He measures your rooms and agrees with you where the indoor unit, the outdoor unit and the pipework will go. If he'd like to see photos of the spot beforehand, he'll ask for them.

    Book a visit
  3. Rein writes at a desk with the brochure open, with Airco Holland on the screen.

    Your price is fixed

After the visit we fix your price, guaranteed and all-in, in a quote that lists your units.

  4. Rein tests a new white wall-mounted unit with the remote control, looking up.

Once you say yes: the day

Rein and Peter install your air conditioning and show you how it works. The invoice only comes after completion.

    How the day itself goes

We make the wall opening and lay the pipework, do a pressure test with nitrogen and pull a vacuum on the system. Then we commission it and check it. We explain how the controls work, and we fit an installation label with the correct installation details. For us, the pressure test is a really important step: we put the pipework under pressure with nitrogen to check that it is leak-tight, before any refrigerant goes in. We also record the details on the installation label in our own records.

WHAT IT COSTS

What will it cost you?

Choose your rooms and how big they are. You'll see straight away which indoor units and which outdoor unit go with them, and we quickly work out what it costs you, including installation and VAT.

We'll quickly work out what it costs you

Tell us which rooms it's for, and we'll work it out for you and send you the price indication. Let Fris work it out, or call Rein on 023 785 50 29.

WHAT YOU GET

What's included in the price

Your price is all-in, VAT included. Each room gets its own indoor unit, which you control separately. A single room has its own outdoor unit, and two or three rooms share one.

INSTALLATION DAY

Every hole in exactly the right place.

This is how a day like that goes, from the mounting plate indoors to the air conditioning up and running. Rein and Peter do the installation together.

  1. Peter marks out with pencil and spirit level above a window where the mounting plate goes.

    Indoors

    The mounting plate

Peter uses a spirit level to mark where the mounting plate goes. The indoor unit will hang on it, so you can see exactly where it will be before any hole goes into the wall.

  2. Rein drills the opening in a long dark wall from a scaffold, with blue sky above.

    On the outside wall

    The wall opening

If the indoor unit hangs on an outside wall, Rein drills the opening straight behind it. The refrigerant pipe, the cable and the drain go outside through it. Drilling through an outside wall is noisy for a little while.

  3. Peter sets a white indoor unit on its plate with both hands, high on the wall.

    Indoors

    The indoor unit goes up

Peter hangs the indoor unit on the plate and connects the pipe, the cable and the drain behind it. If it hangs on an outside wall, all you see indoors is the indoor unit.

  4. Rein fixes the wall bracket high on the wall from a scaffold.

    On the outside wall

    The brackets

On the outside wall, Rein fixes the brackets for the outdoor unit, in the spot you agreed together.

  5. Peter sits behind a new Mitsubishi Heavy Industries outdoor unit on a tiled roof.

    Outside

    The outdoor unit in place

An outdoor unit is a two-person lift. Rein and Peter put it in place together: on the brackets on the wall, or on feet on the roof.

  6. An outdoor unit with connected pipes on a flat roof next to a mossy tiled roof, with a case and pliers.

    Outside

The pipe onto the service valves

The copper pipe goes onto the service valves: the two valves on the side of the outdoor unit. Rein trims the ends to size and tightens the couplings, so that no refrigerant can escape later on.

  7. A new outdoor unit on a flat roof with the pressure test set: nitrogen cylinder, gauges, hoses and vacuum pump.

    Outside

    Pressure test and vacuum

First the pressure test: Rein puts the pipework under pressure with nitrogen and checks that it's leak-tight, before the refrigerant goes in. Then he uses a pump to draw the air and moisture out of the pipe, because they don't belong in a refrigeration system. Only then does he open the valves.

  8. A white wall unit above the door of an attic room with a wooden beam, with no visible pipes.

    Completion

    Finished, with an explanation

Rein switches it on, checks that it cools and heats, and shows you how to use it. We fit an installation label with the correct installation details, and we also record them in our own records. The invoice only comes after completion.

UP CLOSE

  1. The trunking

White trunking running up the outside wall.

They lay the pipework in trunking, so it runs neatly along the wall to the wall opening.

Included: the trunking and the refrigerant pipes inside it.

  2. The outdoor unit

A Mitsubishi Heavy Industries outdoor unit, with the Airco Holland sticker.

They put the outdoor unit in the spot you agreed together during the visit.

Included: the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries outdoor unit, supplied and fitted.

  3. The feet

Rubber feet under the outdoor unit.

On a flat roof the outdoor unit stands on feet, clear of the roof covering.

Included: the feet, as part of the installation materials and fixings.

Can the pipework always be hidden?

No, not always: every situation is different. Before you say yes, you'll know where the pipework runs and how much of it you'll see.

INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE

Taken care of, guaranteed: installed properly first, then maintained every year

  1. Installation

Rein and Peter install your Mitsubishi Heavy Industries system and hide the pipework where they can.

  2. Maintenance

After that, we come back every year for a service. You don't have to remember it yourself: with a maintenance plan, we get in touch with you.

A service every year

Peter checks an outdoor unit during the maintenance visit.

Up to 5 years' warranty. Start yearly maintenance by Airco Holland straight after installation, and the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries manufacturer's warranty runs on for up to 5 years.

WHY IT PAYS OFF

  • A white wall unit in the corner of a room, right under the ceiling next to a grey curtain.

    It stays efficient and comfortable

With a dirty filter or a dirty inside, an air conditioner cools and heats less well and uses more electricity. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries says so, and Milieu Centraal, the Dutch environmental advice centre, recommends regular maintenance for that reason.

    What happens during a service
  • An opened indoor unit with the cleaning cover underneath, during cleaning.

    Cleaner air at home

We remove the dust, mould and bacteria that build up inside an air conditioner, so it no longer blows them into the room.

    How the clean works
  • You go first when it breaks down

If a part needs replacing, we put in a loan unit in the meantime.

    How the loan unit works
  • Whoever installed it, also maintains it

    We already know your installation.

    The maintenance plan

WHAT YOU ARRANGE YOURSELF

Permit, owners' association and the neighbours

  • It depends on where it goes

On the ground, up to 1 metre high and 2 m², you don't need a permit (article 2.29 of the Bbl, the Dutch building regulations). On the wall or on the roof, your municipality's zoning plan (omgevingsplan) decides.

On or attached to a listed building, you always need a permit.

  • In an apartment, ask your VvE first

The owners' association (VvE) is responsible for the shared parts of the building, such as the outside wall and the roof. If the outdoor unit goes there, or the pipework runs through them, put it to your VvE first.

  • 40dB

At most, at the boundary with the neighbours

If your house adjoins your neighbours', the outdoor unit may make no more than 40 dB at the property boundary (article 4.107 Bbl). In an apartment building, the limit applies at the neighbours' windows and doors that can open (article 4.108).

You arrange that yourself. During the visit, Rein helps you work out where the outdoor unit is best placed.

GOOD TO KNOW

What air conditioning doesn't do

A few things come with air conditioning, and we'd rather tell you about them beforehand.

  • It heats the room where an indoor unit hangs, not your whole house.
  • When cooling, it takes moisture out of the air. Some people find the air dry as a result.
  • If you heat when it's freezing, the outdoor unit defrosts now and then. While it does, it doesn't blow out any heat.
  • It doesn't make hot water. And you can't get a subsidy for it: the ISDE subsidy scheme doesn't cover air conditioning.

More on heating with air conditioning.

QUESTIONS

What people often ask

Question not answered here? Ask Fris, or call us on weekdays.

Call 023 785 50 29
Do I need to know which air conditioner I need?

No. Choose how many rooms and how big they are. Rein chooses the capacity and the combination, and during the visit he checks that it's right. Many more combinations are possible than the examples on this site. Which combination fits depends on your rooms, the capacity needed and what is technically possible. A different combination is always agreed with Rein.

Is the price all-in?

Yes. Everything is included in the price: the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries set, supply and fitting with the mounting materials and the refrigerant pipes, and all the work: the wall opening and pipework, a nitrogen pressure test, pulling a vacuum, commissioning and checking, explaining the controls and an installation label with the correct installation details. VAT as well. You get a targeted price indication straight away, based on all the comparable installations we have done. When Rein visits, he looks at your situation, and after that we fix the price, guaranteed. So it may turn out a little higher or lower than the indication.

Who will come to my home?

Rein handles customer contact and comes round to see you. The installation is done by Rein and Peter together, the owners of Airco Holland.

What do I need to sort out at home beforehand?

Clear the space by the indoor unit and by the outdoor unit: move furniture out of the way and put breakable things away.

How does the warranty work?

You get a standard 2-year warranty, on top of your statutory rights. Have Airco Holland service it every year from the moment it is installed, and the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries manufacturer's warranty runs on for up to 5 years. Airco Holland is certified by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to offer this. The extension to 5 years applies to an air conditioner installed by Airco Holland, counted from the installation date. It starts once your maintenance plan is in place and the first service has been carried out and paid for. Skip the yearly maintenance and the extension lapses. You arrange the maintenance on airco-onderhouden.nl.

Do you cover where I live?

That depends on where you live. We work in Hoofddorp and about 30 kilometres around it. If you live in Alphen aan den Rijn, Beverwijk or Purmerend, or further away, just give us a call. Read the full answer
