A low setting for the night

The harder an air conditioner has to work, the more you hear it. That's why you put it on a low setting at night. Rein looks for a spot where the air reaches the room without blowing straight onto your pillow.

Which indoor unit you get depends on the size in m². Rein chooses the indoor unit by the size of the room: up to 20 m² 2 kW, up to 30 m² 2.5 kW, up to 40 m² 3.5 kW and up to 60 m² 5 kW.

    If you sleep in the attic, you'll know how warm it can get up there. Under a sloping roof, not every wall will do: the indoor unit has to be high enough, above the door for example, and the pipework has to be able to run neatly outside.

Can the air conditioning stay on at night?

Yes. You can leave it running on a low setting. According to the manufacturer, you can set a weekly timer with the remote control, so it switches on and off at set times.

Where will the indoor unit go?

You decide that together with Rein when he visits. He looks for a spot where the air reaches the room well without blowing straight onto your bed, and where the pipework can run neatly outside.

How much noise is the outdoor unit allowed to make?

There is a limit for the outdoor unit: no more than 40 dB at the property boundary with the neighbours, or at their windows and doors if you live in an apartment. You can read how that works in the article about the outdoor unit. Read the full answer

What does air conditioning for a bedroom cost?

That depends on the number of rooms and how big they are. We quickly work it out for you, including installation and VAT, and send you the price indication. With four or more rooms, or a room larger than 60 m², Rein comes to take a look first.

What do you do during the installation?

We make the wall opening and lay the pipework, do a pressure test with nitrogen and pull a vacuum on the system. Then we commission it and check it. We explain how the controls work, and we fit an installation label with the correct installation details. For us, the pressure test is a really important step: we put the pipework under pressure with nitrogen to check that it is leak-tight, before any refrigerant goes in. We also record the details on the installation label in our own records.

What warranty do I get?

You get a standard 2-year warranty, on top of your statutory rights. Have Airco Holland service it every year from the moment it is installed, and the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries manufacturer's warranty runs on for up to 5 years. Airco Holland is certified by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to offer this. The extension to 5 years applies to an air conditioner installed by Airco Holland, counted from the installation date. It starts once your maintenance plan is in place and the first service has been carried out and paid for. Skip the yearly maintenance and the extension lapses. You arrange the maintenance on airco-onderhouden.nl.
