Every wall-mounted unit we install cools and heats, so heating is not an extra you pay for. You can check whether it's cheaper than gas with a single division, using your own rates.
Gelukkig zijn er tegenwoordig airco systemen (zonder subsidie) die naast koelen ook kunnen verwarmen. Helemaal van het gas af kan daarmee niet maar het is toch een stap in de goede richting vonden wij.
In onze etagewoningen kunnen helaas geen warmtepompen (met subsidie) geïnstalleerd worden. Gelukkig zijn er tegenwoordig airco systemen (zonder subsidie) die naast koelen ook kunnen verwarmen. Helemaal van het gas af kan daarmee niet maar het is toch een stap in de goede richting vonden wij. Na evaluatie van meerdere mogelijkheden naar een systeem met een goede all-in prijs voor levering en installatie gezocht. Wij kozen voor apparatuur van Mitsubischi Heavy Industries en Airco Holland uit Hoofddorp. Het hele proces, van bezoek met advies tot prijsopgave en de installatie verliepen bijzonder prettig en professioneel. De installatie van een buiten-unit en drie binnen-units werden met stug doorwerken in een dag gerealiseerd. Wij zijn zeer tevreden en bevelen zowel de apparatuur als Airco Holland ten zeerste aan. Wat mij betreft, en die geef ik zelden, een dikke 5 beoordeling.
We waren op zoek naar een geluidsarme airco, de binnenunit is muisstil en op de laagste stand is de koeling al optimaal.
Rein en Peter werkten netjes, waren prettig in de omgang en namen de tijd om alles duidelijk uit te leggen.

We zijn super tevreden over de communicatie, het geleverde werk en de snelheid en sympathie waarmee Rein en Peter hebben gehandeld.
Ook dat ging bijzonder vlot en ze hebben na afloop alles keurig netjes opgeruimd en schoongemaakt.

Ondanks hun drukke schema zijn de mensen nog steeds erg vriendelijk en professioneel.
Na de installatie kon het leidingwerk door zorgvuldige planning en uitvoering netjes in het schuine dakvlak weggewerkt worden.
Met name de units op de bovenste etage zijn zo goed afgewerkt dat je aan de buitenkant helemaal niets ziet.
HOW IT WORKS
An air conditioner is an air-to-air heat pump. In summer it takes heat out of your room and moves it outside. In winter it works the other way round: the outdoor unit draws heat from the outside air, and the indoor unit blows warm air into the room.
Every wall-mounted unit on our price list cools and heats. So you don't have to choose in advance: the same air conditioner does both.
According to the manual, the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries SRK ZS wall-mounted units heat down to an outside temperature of about minus 15 degrees. If it's colder still, the manufacturer recommends a second heat source.
That's what the unit can handle. We advise using the air conditioning as your main heating down to an outside temperature of about 0 degrees. When it gets colder outside, we advise additional heating. That does depend on how well your home is insulated and on the capacity of the installation.
HOW TO CHECK IT
9.8kWh
For energy tax, Dutch law counts 35.17 megajoules per cubic metre of gas (Article 59 of the Wet belastingen op milieugrondslag, the Environmental Taxes Act). One kWh is 3.6 megajoules, so that comes to about 9.8 kWh. No central heating boiler gets more heat out of it than that.

How many kWh of heat an air conditioner makes from 1 kWh of electricity over a heating season is called the SCOP. For energy label A++ for heating, the European rules require at least 4.6.
2.1kWh of electricity
Divide 9.8 by 4.6. If a cubic metre of gas costs you more than 2.1 times a kWh of electricity, heat from the air conditioning is cheaper. In September 2026, a cubic metre of gas cost on average more than five times as much as a kWh of electricity (CBS, Statistics Netherlands).

An indoor unit heats the room it's in, not your whole house. If you want more rooms warm, each room gets its own indoor unit. With more indoor units on one outdoor unit, though, it heats less efficiently.
Several roomsWhen it freezes, the outdoor unit defrosts itself every now and then. According to the manual, heating stops for 5 to 15 minutes while it does, and some water may appear at the outdoor unit. That's normal.

No. The ISDE subsidy from the RVO (the Netherlands Enterprise Agency) doesn't cover an air-to-air heat pump, and that's what an air conditioner is.
If you heat with it as well, it runs in summer and in winter. Then it gets two services: one before the summer, and one after the summer, ahead of the winter. After the installation you get an offer for maintenance, through airco-onderhouden.nl.
You get a standard 2-year warranty, on top of your statutory rights. Have Airco Holland service it every year from the moment it is installed, and the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries manufacturer's warranty runs on for up to 5 years. Airco Holland is certified by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to offer this. The extension to 5 years applies to an air conditioner installed by Airco Holland, counted from the installation date. It starts once your maintenance plan is in place and the first service has been carried out and paid for. Skip the yearly maintenance and the extension lapses. You arrange the maintenance on airco-onderhouden.nl.
