Absolute aanrader! Van adviesgesprek tot bekijken situatie tot installatie, Rein en Peter zijn zeer professioneel en meedenkend. Bij ons zijn er twee buitenunits en 4 binnenunits zonder problemen geplaatst. Met name de units op de bovenste etage zijn zo goed afgewerkt dat je aan de buitenkant helemaal niets ziet. Zij zetten steeds dat stapje extra waardoor je als klant met een gerust hart de installatie aan hun kunt overlaten. Na installatie laten ze alle ruimtes zeer netjes achter.

Living in Haarlem

Haarlem is an old city, with lots of listed buildings and lots of apartments. What that means for air conditioning is set out below and on Listed building, canal house or period home.

WHAT THAT MEANS

An outdoor unit in Haarlem

  • It depends on where it goes

    On the ground, up to 1 metre high and 2 m², you don't need a permit (article 2.29 of the Bbl, the Dutch building regulations). On the wall or on the roof, your municipality's zoning plan (omgevingsplan) decides.

    On or attached to a listed building, you always need a permit.

  • In an apartment, ask your VvE first

    The owners' association (VvE) is responsible for the shared parts of the building, such as the outside wall and the roof. If the outdoor unit goes there, or the pipework runs through them, put it to your VvE first.

  • 40dB

    At most, at the boundary with the neighbours

    If your house adjoins your neighbours', the outdoor unit may make no more than 40 dB at the property boundary (article 4.107 Bbl). In an apartment building, the limit applies at the neighbours' windows and doors that can open (article 4.108).

How do I know whether my house is in a protected townscape?

Haarlem has four: Haarlem, Haarlem-Noord, Haarlem-Zuid and Haarlem Zuidwest. The boundaries are in the knowledge base of the Rijksdienst voor het Cultureel Erfgoed, and the municipality of Haarlem can tell you. If your house is inside one, stricter rules apply to an outdoor unit (article 2.30 of the Besluit bouwwerken leefomgeving, the Dutch building regulations).

Can air conditioning go into my listed building in Haarlem?

That depends on your building, and on the permit. On or attached to a listed building you always need one, and you apply for it yourself. Rein and Peter spent years doing renovations with architects. Is air conditioning more expensive in an old Haarlem house?

We'd rather not say until we know your house: in an old building, every situation is different. First you get a price indication on Calculate your price, and the fixed price once Rein has been to take a look.

I live in an apartment in Haarlem. What do I arrange myself?

Permission from your owners' association (VvE), because it manages the outside wall and the roof. Let them know where the outdoor unit will go and how the pipework will run. How to go about it is on Apartments and owners' associations.
